Child Protection and Safeguarding

At Hemblington Primary School, we are committed to safeguarding and child protection, and, as is stated in our school brochure, parents and carers should be aware that the school must take any reasonable action to ensure the safety of its pupils. In cases where the school has reason to be concerned that a child may be subject to ill treatment, neglect or other forms of abuse, staff will follow County Child Protection Procedures and inform the Children’s Services Department of their concerns. We must all work together for the safety of our children and we are sure all parents and carers understand this.

All volunteers interested in helping out in school are required to complete Disclosure Application Forms, which are then processed by the Disclosure and Barring Service prior to commencement. Parent Help Guidelines and Disclosure Application Forms are available from the school secretary.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Ms Franziska Brugger; Miss Bria Williamson Kestrel Class Teacher, Mrs Louise Norgate Executive Headteacher, Mrs. Sophie Goodson – Swan Class Teacher and Grace Gibson- Cygnet Class Teacher are the Alternate DSL. All can be contacted through the school, and are the initial point of contact for almost all concerns.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns, even if you feel they are not significant. We value your help in keeping the children safe, and no concern is too small to voice.

Our full Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy, which is reviewed annually, is available below.
